Death Notice: Maria Macasaet
Cranberry resident Maria “Velia” Macasaet, 54, died October 11, 2003, at Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.
Viewing will be held, from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm on Monday and Tuesday, October 13 & 14 at Glen-Kildoo Funeral Home at 130 Wisconsin Avenue, Cranberry Township, PA. A funeral service will be held at the St. Ferdinand’s Church on Rochester Road, on Wednesday, October 15 at 10:00 am. Burial follows at Pinewood Memorial Park on Route 19.
Maria was born May 24, 1949, in Mendez, Cavite, Philippines to parents Antonio and Remedios Dimaranan.  She is an Alumna of Roosevelt University, Chicago and married Al in 1972.Â
They came to St. Ferdinand’s faith community in 1992, where she was very involved with parish ministries including CCD, Youth, Eucharistic and Stephen Ministries.
Maria also worked in Information Systems at Mellon Financials for about ten years.
She is survived by husband Al and son Carlos; sisters Lita, Benny and Baboo; brothers Fr. Chito, Bobby and Jose; in-laws Ming, Nina, Flory, Daisy, Del, Freddie, Bernie, Dawn and Cielo; nieces Cristina, Marissa and Rachel.
