This refers to the billiards-like game that I like to play. My wife and I used to play in BCA and APA pool leagues.

I started taking photos when I took my high school’s Photography I class in the spring semester of my senior year. I also took a photography class at Johns Hopkins University. I eventually started scanning my negatives and processing them in Photoshop instead of in the dark room. See my photos on

Martial Arts

At a young age, my father began to teach me a little bit of Shotokan karate. Later, when I was living in Williamsport, PA, I joined the Pan-Am Tang Soo Do Federation. When I moved to Pittsburgh, PA, I continued my studies at the Tang Soo Do Karate College. At Johns Hopkins, I joined the U.S. Soo Bahk Moo Duk Kwan Federation.

One of the advantages of going to a private high school with an average graduating class size of fifty is their no-cut policy in sports. Becuase of this, when I was a freshman, I joined Winchester Thurston’s first ever ice hockey team. I continued to play all for all four years and I found it to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I don’t get to play ice hockey anymore, but I occassionally play pickup games of street hockey.
